In many antonym worksheets, one word is provided, and the students have to find the given word’s opposite. But in this resource, children have to find pairs
of words that are antonyms. You might say that students have to work twice as hard
The Winter Antonyms: Grades 1-2
→Worksheet A (2 sides) - Easier
→Word Cards A
→Worksheet B (2 sides) - Harder
→Word Cards B
On the first page
of each worksheet, the students find antonym pairs and write them next to each other.
On the second page
, students use a pair on antonyms in one or several sentences.
You can differentiate or individualize
the activity by choosing the worksheet and
by indicating on the second page how many sentences you want the students to write.
This activity can encourage:
→enjoyment of words
You can use the worksheets:
✓as a literary workstation activity
✓as a partner activity
✓for early finishers
✓as a small or large group activity
✓to differentiate or individualize instruction
