Welcome to Art Bursts! A simple way to incorporate art into the classroom.

This lesson is an Art Burst - Studio edition. These lessons can be taught by a classroom teacher, substitute teacher, parent or volunteer. Basic art supplies and easy instructions make these successful in any classroom. They can be taught in a 30-40 minute time frame and are appropriate for all elementary grades.

Included in the download is:

-a link to the highlighted painting (to be used as inspiration for the project)
--a brief bio of the artist including discussion questions (can be copied and distributed to students)
-guidelines for a simple art project - including visuals
-a template for the project
-a bulletin board heading for display

Art materials needed:
black paper
pencil
white chalk
scissors
glue

Use this lesson as an interdisciplinary tool for writing.

-Art Bursts can also be supported as an International Baccalaureate lesson .Through discussion of the artwork, students are encouraged to think critically and challenge assumptions.
