Winter Articulation Dough Mats are an interactive activity that target initial articulation sound. It consists of 18 Winter scenes. One for each of the following sounds: P, B, T, D, H, K, G, F, V, S, Th, Sh, Ch, L, R, S blends, L blends and R blends, Each scene has 9 pictures that target the sound in the initial position of words. Each scene has 18 clue cards that correspond with the winter scene mats. Nine with the answers on them and 9 without the answers.
.) Laminate each winter scene mat and the clue cards.
2.) Give each child a winter scene and white dough.
3.) Place the clue cards upside on the table.
4.) Each child selects a card from the table. The child or the therapist reads the clues. Use the clue cards without the answers on them if the students are reading the clues.
5.) The child identifies the item described on the clue card.
6.) Practice saying the target words.
7.) Make a snowball, snowman, snowbank or cloud and cover the picture.
7.) Play until each student completes their snow scene.
