This is a winter/Christmas activity. If you use the synonyms and antonyms it can be geared towards winter but the worksheets are geared towards winter and the holiday season. There are 12 sets of synonyms on hot chocolate clip art and 12 sets of antonyms on mitten clip art. You can do the synonyms and antonyms separate with your students and depending on their level you can do 6 pairs at a time, instead of all 12 pairs. To make the activity longer and to work on verbal language you can have the students formulate a sentence for each word after they form a pair. To make it fun I thumbtack the pictures on the board for the kids to stand up and find the pairs. Once they match all the pairs they can complete the synonym worksheet and antonym worksheet as a reinforcement. The students need to fill in the blank as well as match the missing synonym/antonym. You can also laminate the pieces so you can reuse them without your students ruining them!
There is also a parent letter describing the activity included.
