Catch the snowflakes! This Reverse Interactive Book will help young students build expressive and receptive language. Students can identify common winter clothing, (scarf, jacket, mittens, gloves, sweater, hat, pants, socks, boots ), the preposition “on”, work on sentence formulation, and following directions. This product can be used for students who have special education goals of identifying common objects and following directions.
Directions: The teacher will tell the student that they are going to find the snowflakes on Jenni and Ben’s winter clothes and put them back into the snow globe. The page with the snow globe will be presented to the student. The students will be finding a snow flake on each page on a different item of clothing, while reading/repeating the sentences beginning with the words “I see.” Students will be taking the snowflakes out of the book and putting them into the snow globe. The teacher may ask the student to reread each sentence using the words and pictures to decode. Once the students have put all of the snowflakes back in the snow globe, they can work on retelling by answering how many snowflakes they found and where they found them.
