This is a fun winter-themed card game that targets describing. Each card has a winter-themed picture and corresponding question. Students answer questions upon taking their turns.
Print, cut, and if desired, laminate the cards.
Shuffle and deal 7 cards to each player. Place the remaining cards face down, turning over one card to create a discard pile. Choose who goes first by rolling a die, choosing a mystery number or by age.
Players take turns matching the top card of the discard pile by the color of the “ice block,” number, or action (i.e. pick two cards, skip a turn, etc.). If a player doesn’t have a match, he/she draws cards until able to play. An anything goes card can be played at any time and allows the player to change the color being played. Take 4 cards can only be used if a player isn’t able to play a matching card. This card allows the player to change the color and the person to the left of the player must take 4 cards.
