Your second or third grade students will enjoy practicing addition strategies with this addition BINGO game for sums to 100. This is a perfect activity for a holiday party or as a math activity on a winter themed day. Consider using mini marshmallows to cover up the numbers to make the game even more special for a fun school day!
Fluency in addition strategies comes as students have experience and exposure working with these numbers over and over. This resource allows your students to practice addition fluency for facts with sums to 100.
To play, print enough BINGO cards so that each student has their own card. I have included 20 unique cards, however, if you have more than 20 students you don’t need to worry! Some sums show up in multiple problems and therefore places on the BINGO cards so two students with the same card could cover their numbers in a very different order.
The snowman pages are used for calling numbers. Project these pages on a white board so all students can see the problems as you are working.
BINGO pages can be printed one per page or you can select to print 2 to a page to save some ink :)
Consider differentiating this activity by meeting your students where they are in terms of their fact proficiency. Allow students at the concrete stage to use counters or blocks to add, provide white boards for students who are still drawing pictures to solve and take away all scaffolds for students who are at the abstract stage and ready to practice automaticity and memory!
