Description
Are you struggling with where to start with social-emotional activities for preschoolers with autism and other social and communication disorders? If you want a hands-on activity to start your work with identifying basic emotions, then this resource is for you!
This resource provides playdough mats that focus on 5 basic emotions using cute winter characters. The 5 emotions include: happy, sad, mad, surprised, and worried.
⭐️ Each winter character (snowman, yeti, polar bear, and penguin) has a playdough mat for each emotion. One side of the mat shows the emotion and the other side of the mat has a blank face for your student/child to use playdough to make that same emotion. On the bottom of each playdough mat, there is a sentence strip that says "The (character) Feels (emotion).
⭐️ A second, almost identical mat is included for each character/emotion combination that has a blank square for the character and feeling. For these, your student can choose between different emotions and velcro them onto the blank square on the sentence strip.
⭐️ There are also "quick use" mats that have all 5 emotions, a blank face, and a sentence strip for each character. Less printing and less prep for this one!
If you like this resource, you will also like the Preschool Self-Regulation Activities for Little Learners resource!
Other activities that target emotions include, Identifying Animated Emotions Boom Cards, Emotions Match Boom Cards, and Winter Speech Therapy Boom Cards- Emotions.
