Winter themed figurative language worksheets. These sheets are non-holiday related so that they may be used in all classrooms throughout the entire winter season.
An original poem by Sean Killeen- Twas the Night Before Winter Break. Students identify similes and metaphors imbedded within the poem.
Snowman Building- Students will build a snowman through figurative language concepts. They may color, draw, or create their snowman using a variety of artistic techniques. This activity is open to any art medium. Students may use three-dimensional objects such as Styrofoam, yarn, Popsicle sticks, buttons, felt, cotton balls, etc. Or, students can use two-dimensional mediums such as crayons, markers and oil pastels to create their figurative language snowman. Be creative, have fun, and use up all those extra scraps!!
Students will learn figurative language and you will have a variety of snowman to hang in your classroom. This activity may be a supplement to other snowman or art projects you have planned.
