Want or need a unique, creative, and colorful resource to help teach about some of the winter holidays (i.e. Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Las Posadas, Le Befana, Santa Lucia Day, and St. Nicholas Day (in Germany)? This bundled version of quilt design worksheets will make a great additional resource for your seasonal units. Students create their own individual quilt by filling in the answers on the worksheet and then coloring the blocks on the "quilt."
* Where (or what) country the celebration takes place - comes with picture of flag
* What are some of the symbols and/or traditions
* When is this holiday celebrated
Included in this resource are the following for each holiday:
☆ Individual worksheet (with two types of lines and variations in wording of questions)
☆ 8-10 quilt blocks (approximately 5 inches) so students can work in groups to create a larger quilt OR help to create one huge quilt by combining this holiday quilt with others. Block design allows for students to add additional facts as well. Both music and classroom teachers will find this useful!:)
Two complete sets are included for Kwanzaa: one with the Untied States flag in the top right block and one with the African-American (represents the colors of Kwanzaa.
You can hang the finished quilt(s) on your classroom wall, in the hallway or help to decorate for an upcoming concert!
*Updated on 12-3-15 - a master list or answer key) of possible answers is also included..
