Winter Little Books contain 3 stories that are easy and fun to read!
The titles are: In Winter, President Washington, and Abe Lincoln.
These stories are non-fictional. Therefore, they may be used to meet the CCSS informational text standards. My kids love to color the pictures and “box” all the sight words. They can’t wait to read the stories to one another!
After reading and discussing the books in class, I send them home for “homework.” The children read the story to mom and dad, answer a writing prompt, and return the book to school with a parent signature. We keep the books in the child’s Book Box to read during “free” time.
These small books are critical for practicing “REAL” reading skills and reinforcing CCSS skills.
Copy the Little Books on ditto paper, collate the pages, staple, and THEN cut in half. The final size of the book is 8.5” by 5.5.”
Common Core Standards: RI.K.1, RI.K.2, RI.K.3, RI.K.4, RI.K.7
