Critical and Differentiated Thinking Winter Bundle

Differentiated thinking task cards are great for differentiation, morning work, literacy centers, math centers, early finishers, fast finishers and more!

* NOTE *

Logical Thinking: Yearly Bundle

Students will use character cards as manipulative tools (when needed) to think critically and solve logic problems. Cards will be moved around for each of 10 tasks as solutions are generated. Cards are NOT needed for all tasks.

These cards are designed to be used with:
* gifted and talented 1st and 2nd grade students
* high performing KG student
* average 3rd grade student
* 4th grade student needing remediation

✔︎Example of More Challenging Problem (New Year's Celebration)
The penguins purchased 30 different colored balloons for the centerpiece and several glitter pompoms. Use the clues to determine how many of each color balloon they bought.

* 5 more silver balloons were purchased than red.
* 6 red balloons were purchased.
* The penguins bought eight blue balloons and the rest 
were white.

✔︎Example of Easier Problem (Valentine's Day Party)
Silent reading was enjoyed by all students while parents and teachers prepared for the party. Use the clues to determine which book each student chose; 3 Hearts Gruff, Cupid’s Arrow, Lovable Princess, and Valentine Prince.

* Precious Peet read a book about arrows that were the color of gold.
* Darling Dan loved his book about three unhappy hearts who found peace in their new home.
* Charmed Charlie did not read about princesses but Tender Tina did.

Suggestions for Use

Whole Class
~ laminated character cards are placed under document camera and manipulated
by teacher.
~ Answers can be oral or written on answer page.

Center / Station
~ laminated task andcharacter cards are manipulated by small groups of students to
solve problems.
~ Answers are written on student answer page.
~ Optional center sign included (page 3).

Individual
~ laminated task andcharacter cards are placed in a central location and used by
“fast finishers".
