Description
Math stations are a great way to spiral math skills and standards throughout the year. This winter have your students practice and review math skills in a fun and engaging way with these wintry math centers. Your students will be completing math stations for subtractions, telling time, place value, 10 and 100 more and less, skip counting patterns, comparing numbers, measuring, counting coins, and graphing.
Here are the stations in this winter math unit:
- Spin and Solve: Subtraction Facts Game- students will need a paperclip and pencil for the spinner
- There’s Snow Time: Telling Time to the 5 Minutes, and ordering times from least to greatest
- Plowing Through Place Value: Students match the expanded form and number word to a 3 digit number (numbers to 999)
- Freezin’ Fast Math: Students use 3-digit numbers to find the numbers that are 10 more, 10 less, 100 more, 100 less
- Arctic Addition: Addition with and without regrouping- students make addition problems and color sums by even and odd
- Polar Bear Patterns: Skip Counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s (up to 1000)- students find missing numbers in the number patterns
- Compare the Critters: Comparing 3 digit numbers using < and > symbols
- Snowball Fight: Measurement to the nearest inch- students will need a ruler. I didn’t write inches or centimeters in the instructions so that you can adapt it to your needs
- Build a Snowman: Adding coins- students “purchase” parts of a snowman to make their snowman. They must add up the cost before making their snowman. You need to have the pieces cut out so they can put it together as they are adding their total up.
- Keep Me Warm: Graphing- students use the information to make a bar graph and answers questions about their graph.
