Winter Nouns, Verbs & Adjectives Roll and Sort, Winter Grammar Game, Winter Grammar Activity
Brrr, Bring On the Blizzard!
The Blustery Blizzard Roll & Sort can be used to review and/or assess the concept of determining a word's part of speech, focusing on NOUNS, VERBS, and ADJECTIVES. In this activity, partners will each receive their own sorting mat and own set of WINTERY-themed word cards. They will take turns rolling a 6-sided die and use the key on the activity's instructions to understand the meaning of each number they roll. Some numbers will prompt them to choose a word card with a certain part of speech (NOUN, VERB, or ADJECTIVE), which they must place on the correct section of their sorting mat. Other numbers will prompt students to remove a word card or skip a turn. The object of the game is to be the first student to have all of his/her cards sorted correctly on their mat.
You can use this activity with your whole class, by assigning each student to a partner, or with just a few partnership as a center rotation.
The Blustery Blizzard Roll & Sort Includes:
-goal poster (color & black/white versions)
-vocabulary posters for noun, verb, and adjective (color & black/white versions)
