Number Patterns can be quite tedious until kids learn to look for what the pattern is doing – adding 3, adding 4, etc. Once they learn to find the amount between each number, solving number patterns will be easy!
There are 32 number pattern task cards for the kids to use for practice. The task cards can be used in several different ways. It could be used as a mini-lesson and then put in a center for additional practice. Students can use this as an individual activity or work with a partner to figure out the answers. It can also be used as an assessment. The cards could be used during small group instruction or as a warm-up activity. To make it more fun, two students could have a set of the cards and race to see who could match up the cards the quickest. The cards could be spread out over tables in the classroom and have the kids SCOOT from table to table documenting their answers on the recording sheet.
