Capture your students' excitement about the Olympics! This product has been updated to include the PyeongChang Olympics!
Three activities are included in this unit:
1. Olympics timeline activity. Students will put together a timeline of modern Olympics events, and answer questions about the timeline.
3 documents are included: Timeline, timeline cards, and questions.
2. Olympics latitude and longitude activity. Students will use a world map to identify places of significance to the Olympics. Events pair with the timeline. There are two options:
A. Cities are named, and students write the latitude / longitude.
B. Years are given, and students name the city and write the latitude/longitude.
3. A classroom Olympics race! Students use digital devices to find the answers to 10 questions about the Olympics, and race to the finish line!
ALL three activities include answer keys.
It is an interactive timeline - there are 16 events that can be printed on cardstock or paper, and a large paper timeline that can be spread out on the floor. Students may arrange the events on the timeline alone or with a partner - perfect for your kinesthetic learners, or as a center activity!
The timeline is fun and colorful - I printed mine in color on cardstock and laminated to use for future years.I also included a black and white version if you wish to save ink.
As an extension idea, I had students use index cards to research their own Olympic events, and add them to one copy of the timeline which was hung in the hallway.
I hope to update this purchase for every Olympic games, so a one-time purchase should have you set for years to come!
