Another set of the reading passages with color graphics (same content as the first set, but can either be printed out or accessed using QR codes)
Several graphic organizer options
Olympic themed writing paper
Events include: Alpine skiing, Bobsled, Biathlon, Curling, Figure Skating, Luge, Skeleton, Snowboarding, Hockey, Ski Jumping, and Speed Skating
You choose how you'd like to use the materials: Kids can use the response sheets to show their comprehension of the passages, or you can use the reading passages for little research projects. The passages can be printed out in color and laminated if desired. Or you can print out QR code cards. Kids simply scan the QR code on the event of their choice and read the material on the device they are using, such as a tablet.
These are perfect for guided reading lessons, literacy centres, partner projects, Work on Writing time, and independent work. I made these reading passages when I couldn't find easy to read info that was just right for a grade 2 / 3 level. Each pages gives a basic history of the event in the Olympics, how the sport works, and the equipment needed.
Winter Olympics, here we come!
