Keep your therapy fun and engaging all winter long while incorporating movement and targeting a variety of phonological processing errors!
With this download, your students will have tons of fun:
⭐Creating an arctic scene by placing penguins all around the icebergs
⭐Building a snowman by putting together lots of snowballs
⭐Decorating a Christmas tree with lights, ornaments, and gifts below the tree!
Each product gives you the flexibility in using as a tabletop activity, or by hanging it on the wall or on the back of a door so your students can get up and moving to place their targets on the scene.
Have your students...
-waddle like penguins
to place their penguin on the iceberg...
-sneak like an elf
by tiptoeing to the Christmas tree to put on their ornament...
-twirl like a snowflake
to add their card to the snowman...
Lots of movement opportunities with these activities, which is great to keep engagement and help get the wiggles out during colder winter months!
What others are saying about these materials:
“My kids are always so interested in this activity. I love how it allows them to be more active during the session and you can target so many goals! Thank you!”
“My kids have loved decorating this snowman! And it's so adaptable to target more than just the phonology side of things when it comes to mixed groups.”
“This is adorable! The kids get so excited to decorate and there are so many targets! Thanks!”
“I love this activity, and will be using it everyday until the Xmas break. Can easily be used with every child on my preschool caseload”
"Christmas Tree Phonology"
and "Penguin Phonology"
both include 260 cards to target the phonological processes of final consonant deletion, fronting, backing, stopping, syllable reduction, cluster reduction, and gliding. Stopping stimulus items can also be used to target secondary patterns of deaffrication and depalatalization. Most processes include 6 cards in initial/final word position where applicable. For example, there are 6 initial /k/ and 6 initial /g/ cards for fronting, with 6 final /k/ cards that can be used for both fronting and final consonant deletion. Blank cards are also included for your convenience.
is currently undergoing an update, but the right now contains 200 stimulus cards to target final consonant deletion, fronting, stopping, cluster reduction, gliding, and syllable reduction. Additional stimulus cards to target "backing," as well as more cards to target stopping, deaffrication, and depalatalization are being added, and clip art is being updated. Each phonological process, as with the other two activity sets, includes 6 target words per process per initial/final word position when applicable.
I created these sets of phonology materials to allow for flexibility in meeting the needs of your space and your students.
Many kids learn best when movement is incorporated into their learning, whether it be with the actual activity or with movement breaks. These activities allow you to easily incorporate movement into your therapy sessions to prevent your students from becoming restless and to better meet their needs and learning styles. However, space to move around may not always be a luxury you have (we've all been in less-than-ideal spaces!), so this download also works as a tabletop activity, as well.
