Penguins: Answering WH Questions

78 Question Cards, 6 special cards, 4 cue cards. Students play the game by drawing the penguin cards. Each contains an question. The student needs to answer the question to keep the card. Watch out for hiding penguins who will try to sneak away with your cards!

Ski Trip: Following Directions 36 task cards, 6 special cards, 1 page student mats: one step directions, conditional directions, two step before/after directions. Print all cards and enough ski vans for each student. Students draw direction cards. If they complete the task correctly, they place it on their van to go to the mountain. Many of the directions should just be acted out.

Hot Chocolate: Comprehension 30 story cards, 6 special cards, 5 task cards

Print all fork task cards. Print 2 copies of the special cards. Print one set of marshmallow cards. On each turn, have the students draw one task card. This will determine which skill to target (main idea, prediction, recalling details, character, setting). Have the student draw a marshmallow card. Read the paragraph to the student and have them answer.

Arctic Animals: Sequencing

18 sequencing cards, 6 special cards. Students draw a sequencing card. Read the 4 steps and determine the correct order. If you answer correctly, keep the card on your igloo. If they draw a special card, take an extra turn or put all cards back, as determined by the card.
