Description
How do you keep students engaged in the wintertime? Let's build a snowman. Here’s a great indoor solution to something kids love! Build a snowman STEM Challenge! And this one is a challenge! My students were surprised at all the problems they had to solve!
This Snowman Challenge may be purchased as part of a money-saving bundle!
What is the challenge?
This challenge is to build a model of a snowman using only a few supplies. One is the newspaper for the snowman frame and the other is tissue to cover the snowman. Students will also decorate their snowmen in typical clothing or other décor. Will students build wide and round models or tall, thin models? Can they get the snowman to stand up? Will they make great decisions about how to use the materials? This is a fabulous challenge that is a lot more difficult than you would expect. My students were quite surprised about how hard this challenge turned out to be! There is a lot of creativity with this STEM challenge- in fact, we could easily call this one a STEAM task.
