Engage your students with these winter escape room and STEM activities. It includes 3 winter STEM ideas, a math winter escape room, and a build a snowman craft! These fun and hands-on activities are perfect for preschool and kindergarten students. 

Winter STEM Activities

  • Melting ice STEM project. Students will use different ingredients to melt ice and record how it smells, sounds, and looks.
  • Build a house for a snowman STEM activity: Let students use their creativity to create a home for a snowman.
  • How tall is your snowman? Students will build a snowman out of objects supplied by you and record their results.

Winter Escape Room

Students will focus on counting tens frame snowman buttons, simple addition adding buttons, and more counting cards to solve who stole the snowman hat! There are five clues for your class to solve. Easily do this as small group activities using an envelope system. This should take about 20-30 minutes to complete. Once students have solved the mystery there is a tracing paper to write the answer in a sentence and to draw a picture too.

Winter Craft

Build a snowman with this winter craftivity! Students will practice fine motor skills by cutting out circles, a hat, and more to build their own snowman. Use this as a writing craftivity or for a fun craft project during the cold month!
