Play just like math game Bump!
The children play “Bump” with a partner. Each child takes 10-20 unifix cubes of one color. His/her partner should have a different color. The 1st child pulls a sight word out of a sack (or can, bag, bowl, whatever you want). I write the words on small white balls (kids call them snowballs). The student reads the word, puts a cube on the word, and puts the word back into the sack. If the student cannot read the card, they lose their turn. If another player’s marker is on that word BUMP it off. If your marker is on that word, link the cubes together and it freezes that spot. The winner is the player that uses all of their cubes first!
