What educators are saying

My seventh grade STEM students enjoying building their sleds and testing out the many options found in this resource. It's a great winter STEM activity and the students were very engaged!
My students loved this STEM activity. It went with our science lessons on forces and motion. Thanks!

Great activity for the winter holidays! In this activity, students design and build a sled to investigate motion, forces, and speed. Students follow the engineering design process to test and improve their sleds so that they slide faster down a ramp.

- Fun scenario to introduce the challenge

- 2 levels of worksheets - one for elementary, one for middle school

- extension activities to investigate motion, speed, and friction using sleds

- vocabulary list of motion vocabulary
