This snow globe themed math resource provides fun and inviting winter clip card activities for your little learners to practice addition facts to 10. These activities are great for morning tubs, early finishers, math centers, informal assessment, and take home practice.
There are 5 snow globe shaped addition clip card activities in this packet. Each activity has 12 cards and an optional recording sheet. There is an addition fact and a choice of three sums printed on each clothespin clip card. The cards and recording pages have coordinating graphics. The images include snow covered trees, log cabins, a snowman, a moose, a husky puppy, and a bear.
The cards are shaped like snow globes. If you prefer, you can just cut them rectangular shaped to save prep time. A version of the cards with rectangular outlines that can be cut with a paper cutter is included in this download. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE CARDS ARE THE SAME IN BOTH VERSIONS. The only difference is one set has lines for cutting in a rectangular shape and the other does not. Please note that the total number of pages listed above includes BOTH sets of cards and the recording pages.
This resource contains the following components:
• 5 sets of snow globe shaped addition clip cards (15 pages)
• 5 sets of snow globe addition clip cards outlined for cutting in a rectangular shape (15 pages)
• 5 recording pages
Print, laminate, and cut out the clothespin clip cards. Print the recording sheet that goes with the clothespin clip cards. You will need 12 clothespins for each activity.
Learners clip a clothespin on the correct sum or they can use dry erase markers to circle the correct sum. Seasonal novelty mini erasers, pom-poms, buttons, pennies, or other small household objects may be used to indicate answer selections. You may opt to make these cards self-checking by writing the answer on the back or marking a dot on the back at the correct spot. Place cards in a dollar store photo album and use a dry erase marker to make write-on/wipe-off activities. Cards and clips may be stored in seasonal plastic containers, zippered binder pouches, or plastic supply boxes.
After selecting the correct sum, learners may write the equation and sum on the optional recording sheet. Learners may record equations in their math journals to save paper and keep your copy count low.
These clip cards help learners develop addition fluency and support the Math Common Core Standards for Operations and Algebraic Thinking.
