Product Description
This winter solstice activity is a great introduction or reinforcement to why we have seasons, and a fun, short, science activity to do right before a winter break.

It includes a little bit of information about winter celebrations around the world, and then an exploration into the 'reason for the seasons.' It is appropriate for middle school or high school.

This lesson can be done as a whole group activity with a projector to show the map, or by printing out the map ahead of time, or individual or small groups on a computer.

To see more suggestions for using this project, and activities for the other solstice and equinoxes, as well as associated websites and vocab activities, go to Solstice and Equinox Hours of Daylight and Seasons Lessons Pack
