Learn all about the Arctic, Antarctic, dog sledding, igloos, and ice fishing with this unit for winter speech therapy! I have included six open-ended games with fact sheets and two weeks of speech therapy common core aligned lesson plans. Print and go in COLOR or BLACK AND WHITE. There are four different fact sheets: Arctic vs. Antarctic, dog sledding, igloos, and ice fishing. Includes twelve vocabulary words relating to the unit.

You can watch the polar bears live! My kids LOVE this! I leave it up on my Smartboard all day so each group can try to spot the polar bear.
Instead of gluing the animals in with the unit I used animal crackers. They used my GA-spinner app to see how many animals they could place in their zoo. We increased language by deciding where we would place them. Examples: Up on the iceberg/in front of the igloo/beside the trees.
Also, when we played the ice fishing game, we used goldfish instead of the paper fish. I brought in Swedish candy fish and added a special bonus to the spinner for the “big catch of the day.”
This product includes two open-ended igloo games, igloo fact sheet and a weekly lesson plan aligned to common core standards for speech therapy. You can print out the black and white games and let the kids create their own game board or print out several copies of the colored game boards and laminate them. The "cover the ice block game" can be played using a variety of different options.
One open-ended speech homework sheet is included.
