Target a variety of expressive language skills with this packet that includes 20 object naming and/or function picture cards, 18 synonym sentence cards, 18 antonym sentence cards, 24 “who” cards, 24 “where” cards, 24 “what” cards, 24” when” cards, 24 “why” cards, 12 explain the sequence cards, 24 multiple meaning word cards, and 18 asking questions cards.
(Object Naming and/or Functions) Pages 3-7: Lay out all picture cards. Students can take turns either labeling the item or stating each item’s use.
(Synonyms and Antonyms) Pages 8-15: Place the “podium word bank mat” on the table and cut out all synonym and/or antonym cards. Students take turns drawing cards and determining an appropriate synonym or antonym to replace the underlined word.
(Who, Where, What, When, and Why Questions) Pages 16-35: Separate cards into various piles if desired. Students take turns drawing question cards and answering the wh-question on the card.
(Sequencing) Pages 36-37: Students take turns drawing “event” cards and stating the steps needed to complete the activity.
(Multiple Meaning Words) Pages 38-41: Students take turns drawing word cards. Then, they can either define both definitions of the word or they can make sentences with each definition of the word.
(Asking Questions) Pages 42-44: Students take turns drawing answer cards and determining a question that could precede the given answer.
