PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Winter Calendar Collection is a part of the whole classroom themed set from Virtual Class Decor. If you would like to give your classroom a quick, printable, editable calendar for a bulletin board, this is an excellent choice.

The basic calendar squares come with penguins and polar bears. You have a set of 31 squares and a blank with each design.

You also have the months of the year and the years from 2015 – 2020 and a blank for each.

There are 2 sets of the days of the week. One set of the days of the week has green text and the other has blue text. There is also a blank.

Everything is in .jpg so you can adjust to the size you need.

A blank is included, in case you have a special day you want to mark, or maybe you want to add a second language or third on your calendar. This is easily accomplished. To do this, copy and paste the blank document you would like to use into PowerPoint. (PowerPoint is the simplest.) PowerPoint has a ruler on the sides, so you can make the blank the size you need. Next, add text using the WordArt or a simple text box that you desire. You are ready to print your slide! This is made to help the busy teacher make the most of their time and energy.

How do I size and print my images? PowerPoint is again the simplest as it will not move something once you have placed it and it has a ruler. You can type and modify text right on top and it won’t move, unless you select it, and purposely move it. Copy and paste the image, then use the corner to make it larger or smaller to get the size you want. Copy and paste the next image, right beside the first one. PowerPoint will pop up a set of guide lines when your new one perfectly matches the previous one. It takes no time at all. This allows you to print only what you need in the size which works for you. No need to print or store pieces you will never use.

Why all of the months of the year? Some teachers hang all of the months of the year on their wall and use them as a “word wall.”

Why is everything a rectangle? Because I have been teaching for a very long time and want to use my paper cutter and get this done as quickly as possible. I have a feeling you share that thought.

Why two sets of numbers? So you can teach patterns during calendar time. You will have the ability to work on AB, AAB, ABB, AABB, AA, and BB patterns.

Why a theme for the whole classroom? Because the classroom looks like you gave it a makeover without spending a large amount of money. At this price, you can afford several themes which only take a short time to transition when you are ready.

I have gotten more “thrifty” as I have gotten older. You see, I poke a paperclip through my calendar basic poster. That way, I slip the date cards under the paperclip and they have minimal wear. I don’t have to pay for Velcro and lamination is not really necessary if I printed it on cardstock. If I lose a piece, I just print out a new one. If it rips coming down, I print out a new one for next year. It is much cheaper and I’m not adding the plastic of lamination to our environment.
