Contents and Instructions:
Describing anchor chart. Has cues for students to think about when describing objects. Print and laminate for durability.
‘Describe it’ cards. 24 cards with objects to describe. Students pick up a card and describe the object. If the other person guesses the card correctly, the person describing keeps the card. The person with the most cards wins. There are also 8 x “lose a card” or “put all your cards back” cards, to be used with the game. Print, cut up and laminate for durability.
Compare and contrast. Venn diagram; pupils can write their answers in, to help them formulate their responses. 16 cards with two items on. Students are to verbally compare and contrast the items; talking about how they are the same and how they are different. Print, cut up and laminate for durability.
‘Winter Scenes’. Students are to talk about what they can see in the picture. Encourage them to use full sentences, pronouns, adjectives etc. as appropriate. You could print two copies of these scenes. Student and SLP each have a set of the cards. Then, the student is to pick one of the scenes, and then describe it to the SLP, and then SLP has to choose the scene that the student has described.
