Description

This hands-on Winter themed sentence building activity is a great way to help students practice counting words in a sentence, reading sight words, reading with fluency, using punctuation, reading for comprehension and building new vocabulary. It is perfect for literacy centers or workstations, morning work, whole group, and small group instruction.

With two different ways to use this activity, it can be differentiated to meet the needs of all your students.

Using this activity students can:

• count the number of words in a sentence

• use the sentence stems and fill in the vocabulary words and punctuation

• use the high frequency word cards to build their own sentences

•practice writing in complete sentences by recording the sentences they create in their journal or on a piece of paper

• use the included writing and illustrating worksheet to practice writing a sentence to show comprehension

This activity includes:

♦ 12 different Winter vocabulary cards
