It's time to deal with the cold as only a math class can with this timely activity.
These activities gives students practice solving systems of linear equations, plotting points and creating art. Differentiate your instruction by having students solve either 15, 30, or 40 different systems of linear equations to complete the list of coordinate points. Then students plot the points, connecting as they go, but only within the designated zones. When they are done, they will have graphed a picture of a Winter Time Thermometer.
Here are some tips:
All points will be on one grid line or another.
A completed picture has been provided to be used as a key.
You can download my custom made FREE GRAPH PAPER from my store.
I have also found that printing graph paper directly from themathworksheetsite.com
helps out, but any graph paper will do.
