Winter & Valentine’s Graphs are a fun way to practice graphing for your students whether on their own or as a class.
Students will gather data and record it first on their tally sheet before they turn it into a bar graph. Each graph comes in two options. The first is a "What do you notice?" where students can simply look at their graph and make three observations. The second option is "Answer three questions about your graph". As the teacher post or verbally ask three questions and have students record the answers on the lines provided.
Practicing creating and reading graphs on a regular basis helps cement students understanding of how a graph works and how to successfully read and interpret them. Use as practice or a basis for mini-lessons throughout the year.
