I find that the majority of my therapy groups are “mixed groups”. To me, this means I have students grouped together who are not working on the same types of goals. This freebie, like the majority of my products was designed with mixed groups in mind!
•To use: Print and laminate verb mat (if you plan to reuse). Have students label the picture, or say a sentence that goes with the picture to practice a variety of skills. Then students can squish play dough or cover with any type of motivating reinforcer (such as a mini eraser or magnetic chip).
•Grammar: Practice verb tense (past/present/future), pronouns, possessive pronouns.
•MLU: Work on expanding student sentences.
•Retell: Have students make connections to the images to retell past events. Your prompt could be, “Tell about a time you went sledding.”
•Articulation: Challenge your students to put one of their target words in their sentence. An example of this could be you challenging your students working on R blends to put the word “great” into their sentence. The student might say, “The boy made a great snow angel.”
•Social skills: Tell one expected and one unexpected behavior for each activity. An example of this could be for the sledding picture-
•Expected: You wait until other kids are out of the way before going down the sledding hill.
•Unexpected: It would be unexpected to crash into another person at the sledding hill.
