This packet focuses on verbs “to have” and “to be”. Activities are repetitive to encourage acquisition of these verbs and how they change based on the noun(s) preceding it. The first set of activities is based on Miss. Hall’s class’ holiday wish lists. Each student had to make a list consisting of a gift that they no longer have (1), a gift they still have (2), and something that they want (3). There are a variety of activities based on these lists that target “have/has/had” and “who” and “what” questions. Students will have many opportunities to practice these skills in a variety of ways.
Her class is then instructed to each make a list to help Miss. Hall decide on a field trip. Each student makes a list of where they went last year (1) and where they want to go this year (2). From this are activities focusing on “was/were” and “who” and “where” questions.
A great supplement for 3rd grade standards L.3.1.B, D, E, F and I.
