Baby it's cold outside! I've been unpacking my winter themed items and decided to add a few new things! My solution to mixed groups has been to made multiple activity packets for different skills all based around one board game. SLPs can mix and match the decks for each kid in the group. It makes mixed groups a breeze!
There are 3 different packets available in the Winter Village theme. Each packet feature one game. board. This listed is for the Expressive Language Packet only. You can purchase the other packets or you can purchase the bundle at a discounted price. Do not purchase both the bundle and this set.
Some suggested ways to play: Game 1: Carryover. Play with all types of language cards. Start the game on ‘start’. When you land on a space, check the location (ice fort, apartments, etc.). Answer the corresponding type of question (ie: if you land on the ice fort, answer a compare/contrast question.) If you answer correctly, stay on the new space. If you answer incorrectly, go back to your last space.
Game 2: Specific Skill Practice. Play with only one type of language card (or one card type per student). The student should move around the board. answering the predetermined type of questions. If they answer correctly, use the game points card to determine how many points the student has earned. You can track these points on the included, ‘My Game Points’ card.
The 5 included activities:
Compare & Contrast (24 cards) Identifying features that are the same/different for the listed items.
