Adults like seasonal activities, but they don't want to do the same things their children do. Give your beginning level adult ESL students some vocabulary to talk about the winter season. This 30-card deck was made for them! No cutesy pictures--just real winter-related photos.

This deck is completely holiday-free. It is strictly seasonal.

In this deck, students will hear a winter-themed term or phrase. They will then select the correct photo from a group of six photos and the correct term/phrase from a list of six. There is no typing involved.

This deck will NOT appeal to young learners.

Need something easier?

  • Winter Vocabulary introduction BOOM CARDS: In this deck, students will hear a winter-themed term or phrase while viewing a corresponding photo. They can click the audio icon to hear it again as many times as they want before clicking the "next" arrow to proceed to the next card. This is meant to introduce the terms and does not check student understanding or memory.
  • Winter Vocabulary 1 BOOM CARDS: In this deck, students will hear a winter-related term/phrase and then select the correct image from a group of six images. There is no reading or typing involved.

  • Winter Vocabulary 3 BOOM CARDS: Students type the correct term/phrase and can use see the shuffled letters to use as support. Listening to the audio is an option.
  • Winter Vocabulary 4 BOOM CARDS: Students type the correct term/phrase for each image. Listening to the audio is an option. No shuffled letters are given.
