Your students want to write in their journals, at the writing center, or work on a story, but they want to know how to spell some of those words that are only specific to the winter season. You can give them these winter vocabulary word bank cards as a writing resource.
These 45 winter word cards can be used in a variety of ways. They can be posted on a word wall, placed at a writing center as a reference tool, or even put on a ring to make it more mobile. They can be used in whole group, small groups, or during independent work. Simply print, laminate, and cut out.
Words included …
cold, snowy, log cabin, candy cane, gingerbread, stocking, Christmas tree, reindeer, present, elf, Santa Claus, holly, bells, sleigh, snowflake, lights, ornament, star, menorah, Hanukkah, Star of David, ice skate, snowman, ski, sled, snow fort, snow angel, scarf, mittens, hat, winter, New Year’s, Martin Luther King, Jr., groundhog, shadow, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Rosa Parks, love, friends, candy, mail, cupid, conversation hearts, heart, valentine, flower, and hugs and kisses.
