Winter Writing Prompt: Create an unforgettable writing experience for your students with these fun and original colorful story starter writing prompts for the winter months. These are not your typical prompts. They are designed to get students to use their imagination and enjoy a fun writing experience.

You get over 40 winter themed story starters in color, five themed images for classroom decoration, five blank snowflake story starters, three pages of graphic organizers, and 20 winter themed writing pages. Add in the two pages of instructional material and writing tips for teachers, and you're ready to go. You can start using these the first day of winter and use a prompt each day..

Some prompt topics include polar bears, penguins, snow, snowballs, igloos, ice skates, winter sports, sledding, animal tracks, snow days and more.

This will help you meet Common Core writing standards for real or imagined narratives W.2.3, W.3.3, W.4.3, W.5.3

These materials are just right for 2nd through 5th grade students and are perfect for narrative paragraphs, event paragraphs, narrative essays, and event essays. Plus, you'll get your students excited to use their creative writing skills.

You can find the container, pencils, and ribbon on the image at Dollar General or find similar items at any dollar store. You can also just pass out the story starters or even place them on craft sticks or even candy canes too. If you're looking for Christmas themed prompts, I also have a set of those in my store.

Tip: If you have a class party, you can also use the images without the prompts for cupcake toppers.
