This book includes 10 writing prompts. Two pages are included for each prompt. Students create a keyword outline on the first page. The second page is used for writing a paragraph and drawing a picture.
Students write keyword notes for an introduction, 3 body sentences, and a conclusion. Each line of notes should have enough keywords to create one sentence. The rule of thumb is to include 3-5 words per line.
Encourage your students to use descriptive words when writing their notes. The notes for the introduction and conclusion should be similar but not exactly the same.
Once the outline is complete, have each student use his/her keyword notes to write a paragraph. Students may also draw a picture. If more room is needed, use the included handwriting paper.
Each prompt may be used alone, or you may staple multiple prompts together to create a book. A cover page is included. Two versions of the cover page are provided. One is for color printing, and one is for black and white printing.
A sample is provided that models this writing process.
