This workbook teaches the identification of the ABC's, printing of the letters (both capital and small) and introduces beginning sounds. Students are also introduced to tracing and writing words and eventually a sentence.
At the beginning of the workbook, there's a story to read called, 'Alphatalk Street'. In that story, a little girl named Emma takes a walk and meets every letter of the alphabet. Each letter has a picture embedded in it and that picture leads up to the character in the letter saying the letter's main sound. After the story, pages on letter identification and learning to write the letters follow. There are also pages devoted to review and testing of the letters presented.
Directions can be found at the beginning of the book, but also scattered throughout. I'm hoping this workbook will be a fun way of teaching reading readiness skills.
