WISE OWL RIDDLES FOR INFERENCING DESCRIPTION:

This game targets inferencing through simple riddles. Students use their placemats to collect as many owls as possible by the end of the game. Watch out for the "sleeping owl" cards, the instructor decides the consequence.

There are 32 owl riddle cards, 10 sleeping owl cards, and 4 tree branch placemats. Print as many placemats as needed for your group.
Have fun targeting analogies and predictions. You can play the two sections together or separately. Blue owls are analogy cards. Brown owls are prediction cards. Each student is given a tree branch placemat used to collect their owls. Watch out for the "sleeping owls" or you might have to give some owls back or lose a turn. The student with the most owls at the end of the game becomes the "wisest owl"!
