This is a class activity I did after we talked about mass hysteria and McCarthyism. This activity helped them get ready to read The Crucible. The task are split up into 3 categories: witches, non witches, and a judge. I cut and folded the task and put them in a bucket for the students to draw out of. They were instructed to not let anyone know who they were; unless they were the judge. The judge I placed at the front of the room to observe everyone. After 20 minutes of the students performing their task I had them split up into who they thought were witches and not witches. After the group decided who was and wasn't a witch, the judge had the final say on who he thought was a witch and who wasn't.
