Spin and Clip
Four Place Value Games
11 – 20
This is a set of 4 place value games working with the numbers 11 - 20. An 11 – 20 spinner is provided. These games can be played in a small group or as an activity individually. The children will spin an 11 – 20 spinner and clip a clothespin with the number written on it to show how many. (1 ten and 4 ones – clothespin with 14 written on it) You will need 2 clothespins with 19 on them for 3 of the boards and 11 – 20 for the ten frame board.
Spin and Clip – Small Group
Each child will need a game board and 10 clothespins. Spin the spinner. Match the number spun to the corresponding problem on the game board and clip the clothespin with the corresponding number. If a child spins a number already spun, they miss a turn. The child that clips every box first wins.
Spin and Clip - Independently
Each child will need a game board, an11- 20 spinner, and 10 clothespins with the numbers 11 – 19 written on them, 11- 20 if using the ten frame board. The child will spin the spinner and clip a clothespin to the equation, number sentence, or ten-frame that shows the number. The child continues until all boxes have been clipped. I play this at math stations and give my children all 4 boards. My lower children get 1 board.
