I’ve completely fallen in love with reading L. Frank Baum’s, The Wizard of Oz to my students. I start reading it when spring is upon us because in our neck of the woods, we can get some pretty serious wind and thunderstorms as our weather is changing over. We also start to practice our tornado drills so we do our weather unit along with our Wizard of Oz unit so that everything blends together for our children.
I have purchased several "Wizard of Oz" units created by some amazing teachers and pull from them each year. I wanted to create more of a comprehension unit for my students where we would read a chapter and then answer a question or two about what we read. This unit includes comprehension questions or some other type of creative response for each chapter of L.Frank Baum’s, The Wizard of Oz. I hope you find it useful in your classroom.
