I created this project as a reflective piece when my team took a field trip to see a local production of "The Wizard of Oz." We recently completed a unit on the elements of a narrative, so I chose to create a project that reviewed what we just studied, required students to think criticially and evaluate what they saw, as well as encouraged them to be creative. I did several mini-lessons to prepare my special needs students for this project such as "How to Write a Strong Paragraph."
This product contains step-by-step instructions for the take-home project, a grading rubric, a brainstorming handout used to help students pre-write, and a template that I gave to my students with special needs in order to help them find success, while maintaining the same learning goals of the project as other students.
This product could be revised to be used with almost any book, movie, production, etc. that students read/see.
