Enhance your Wizard of Oz Unit with this great vocabulary resource. Introduce a unit vocabulary word by having your students use it in a variety of different ways. I use this as morning work and my student love coming into the room each day and seeing what the new word of the day is. They will need to trace the word, write it two times, fill in a sentence, and lastly create their own asking sentence and telling using the word. In order to reinforce sentence structure I have my students circle the noun, verb and adjective in each sentence. This has really helped to not only reinforce the grammar components but also improve my student’s writing abilities. The posters will also add a visual reference to help reinforce the learning. The words included are: weather, Glinda, Scarecrow, Tin Woodman, Lion, Dorothy, witch, Toto, slippers, poppy, tornado, rainbow, city, cloud, and wizard. This goes along great with my Wizard of Oz Literature Unit and Character Trait Study.
