Finding and/or creating sample technology enhanced items can be challenging for teachers, yet it's imperative that students receive ample practice. This exercise may either be used as part of a formal assessment or as a review. It pairs the poem "Ain't I a Woman?" with the Time for Kids article, "2014 Person of the Year." The first two questions relate to the poem (making inferences), while the next two (sequencing events and determining supporting details) correspond with the article. The fifth question asks students to compare central themes in both texts.
Due to copyright restrictions, only the technology enhanced items are included. However, a space has been provided for both the poem and the article. The file is also a Word document, as opposed to a PDF document, so you will be able to edit it for your convenience.
