In this semester long class, students will engage with a variety of texts from multiple female authors from early American Literature. There will be a focus on the ways female authors portrayed women’s issues which were often associated with mental illness. Students will engage in reading and studying a variety of genres including novels, poems, short stories, non-fiction articles and essays, and visual art pieces.
