Many of the resources are specific to Washington state, but the trends regarding women in STEM are true across the United States. Copyrighted materials are included in this course and are given in their original form; they should not be modified without permission.
As students complete the course, they will develop an understanding of how represented women are in the science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields, and gain knowledge of the organizations and resources that exist to promote women in STEM. The goal is for young women to be informed, given access to resources, and inspired to get serious about planning their journey into the STEM disciplines.
The course contains journal articles and other readings, websites, videos, assignments, and assessments for each unit. Teachers can add their own resources of any type of media, and even differentiate the course for students of varying needs.
We'd love to hear your feedback about the course!
