This document includes a 1-page middle school-level reading about Rosalind Franklin's contributions to the discovery of the structure of the DNA molecule, and the lack of credit that was given her.
Before they read, students are given 9 words that appear in the text (decipher, essential, crucial, etc.) to look up in a dictionary and define. They then read the passage, and answer 3 text-dependent questions.
